Baldness, (alopecia) is caused by various causes.

Cause

There can be several causes for baldness.
Often internal causes can lead to hair loss such as:

  • long-term digestive disorders
  • individual hypersensitivity to certain feed components or medicaments
  • individual shortages or increased need for minerals or vitamins (e.g. inborn increased zinc requirements).

External skin diseases can also lead to baldness:

  • Skin fungi (ringworm, see there).

Treatment
